agenda: walk to SeaWorld San Diego
distance: 2.5 miles
travel time: 30 minutes (by foot)
After a hectic holiday season filled with traveling, we decided to take our first trip of the year to a local place. SeaWorld is running a promotion where you get an entire year pass for the price of a day pass. Being cheap and living so close to the attraction, we went. Here's Cindy on the way. She says," I love that we can walk to an amusement park!"
We used the automated ticket machines and bypassed our first line, score! Once inside, we watched a dolphin show featuring a porpoise named Cindy. Get it, Cindy and the dolphin had the same name! Ha ha! Any way, after the dolphin show we headed over to see the grand daddy of SeaWorld attractions, Shamu. Shamu says," Eeek! Eeek! Urrrp!"
They have this new program where you can surf on Shamu's back, for a fee. Here I am hanging 10 on the back of the whale! Whoo hoo! Look ma, no hands!
There aren't many rides at SeaWorld, but one of the newest is Journey to Atlantis. We didn't think you could get that wet. Boy were we wrong!
The front row is not for the faint at heart! Another funny thing about this ride was while on line, they warn you to make sure all prosthetic limbs are securely attached for the duration of the ride. Huh? Did someone think it was a good idea to take their leg off mid-ride? What if your hooks flew off and impaled someone? Would you be responsible now that the park had warned you? What a country!
