agenda: travel from SoCal to New Haven, CT
distance: 3426 miles
travel time: 6 hours (by plane)
For a change, we were able to travel east to visit with the family and celebrate the most excellent wedding of Gregg and Michelle. The weather was much cooler than our native California but the changing leaves in CT were a sight for sore eyes. We arrived just in time. Here Aunt Bernie is shooing us inside as Michelle is getting ready to come in.
I wanted one more shot before heading in, and here is Michelle and her Dad, Uncle Joe, getting fluffed for their big walk.
In the middle of the ceremony, there was karaoke. Just kidding, Gregg and Michelle wanted to be sure we all heard their exchange of vows. Can you hear me now?
Here are Michelle and Gregg walking out. Everyone was snapping pictures, even this dude (is that Bobby's head?) in front of me was taking shots with his cell phone! Say cheese!
Outside it was sooooo cold, that we caught my father embracing my sister, Rosanne. This rare and tender moment is a gem of photographic work that some wildlife phot journalists will spend lifetimes to capture.
I just wanted to try and use the Black and White conversion tool on my photo editor. The picture was a bit over exposed, but it looks pretty nice, no? The subjects look lovely as well.
Instead of rice, we blew bubbles. You can see some of them floating around this picture as Gregg and Michelle make their way down the chapel stairs. I give Michelle mad credit for being able to not only walk in heels, but not get caught up in her flowing gown. I know I'd be tripping and falling all over the place.
You can see Michelle is happy here. Now, Gregg...I dunno here. Perhaps it was that not only was Gregg getting pictured out, but one of his groomsmen was also caught in this moment of synchronous "oh gosh"-ness. Eyes open boys, the day has barely even started!
Here is the photographer who risked his limb climbing the four foot wall for a group photo. His spotter laughs as he is about to fall and ask for her help. He was rooting for the Cardinals to beat the Red Sox. Everything turned out okay and the Red Sox are leading the series.
This one needs no description.
While Rose napped, Cindy snuck onto her lap and we got this picture. Cute!
Can you feel the love here?
I can definitely feel the love here. The newly minted Mr. and Mrs. Ward.
Pasta, yummy. The chicken was also very good. So good infact, I did not have time to take a picture.
Rose was kind enough to pause mid-pasta and pose for a picture with Uncle Joe and Cindy. Not typically a big picture guy, I have to hand it to my Uncle for being a good picture sport on this day.
Matt looking very handsome and Marie looking fabulous.
The DiLeo's and a soon-to-be-DiLeo.
Mother and daughter. Mom and Rose taking a break from dancing.
I wandered off the beaten path while looking for the men's room and found this haunted wedding. I didn't want to stay long because I was creeped out! But I was able to get this ghoulish snapshot.
Mom and Matt, pausing mid-dance, for a quick photo opportunity. Lots of smiles all around!
We three hanging out and having fun. My hair's all messed up. They need to have a special photo button for "Fix Hair."
Mom and Michelle. What are you looking at Mom? The camera is over here.
Everybody conga!
The Littleton Ave. kids getting into trouble!
